Hi everyone,
I just wanted to reassure PUBLICLY that I'm not approaching this with any lack of seriousness. There are a few projects that I'm juggling which require various production aspects and that's proven to be a bit tricky. But I'm making them happen. I didn't need extra nudging, SKS, though it seemed that way.
I've been guilty of taking a long time on these and other projects, but I always deliver what I owe in the end. And the end is coming very soon, as I mentioned in the last letter.
Bbeing able to find HELP with sokme molding, casting, etc., has been big.
Even though it's only a handful of people on the projects that will be receiving them, there is still lots to be worked out. And I'm not rushing any little aspect (Yes, obviously, I know). I'm trying to do the best I can so people will be very pleased when they get the thing.
So please, don't sharpen the axes just yet. I think you'll be happy with the end result.
And Bab Aboey- I've been trying to find actual cosmic dust, but to no avail.
But these kits will have just about everything else. Believe me, I'm not shortcanging the members by any means. But thank you.
I'm going to answer publicly. Not by malice, but I want to have things clarified.
This is the third time I got involved in a commission (prepaid work so not counting kits).
The first one, I waited more than 18 monthes.
The second one was achieved in less than 6 monthes and was deliverd before the first one.
During the first commission, the sculptor, who also molded and painted the pieces, encountered problems which had added to the delay. But he'd never forgotten to give news (good or bad) or send WIP pics.
When I look at what happened with the commission you're involved in, and started by Lipfire, it's totally different. Let's talk about facts :
1) March 2007 : Lipfire proposes a Surfer FS action pose
2) as I knew who was sculpting the statue (you), and judging your [then] recent works well above the average standards, I decided to get in the commission.
3) On March 17th 2007, I paid through PP $75 as many others.
4) On March 30th 2007, we got the first WIP pics
5) On april 17th 2007, second batch of WIP pics
6) On april 24th 2007, third batch of WIP pics
7) On SEPTEMBER 8th 2007, new wip pics (at last) :
8) On september 13th, new wip pics you've sent by mail telling you were going to "complete the sculpture in the week", and asking for the second payment :
AS Lipfire was on vacancies, we decided then to wait for his return before paying because we were deceived by the WIP pics (problems with anatomy - I know what I'm talking about, I'm a physician, a general practitionner, and my girlfriend's got an art gallery). Several members of the commission were OK with the critics.
9) On September 30th 2007, New WIP pics :
10) On October 2nd 2007, new wip pics :
11) as you asked for the second part of the payment, I paid through PP $100 on october 2nd 2007 after seeing the last WIP pics which were reassuring.
12) on october 13, first WIP pics of the Shalla Ball bust.
Since this date, no news...13) on june 4th 2008, I decided to ask for the refund to make you move. It has worked very well. In your answer, sent by mail to all the members of this commission, we could read this : "I will have the Surfer molded and cast by next month. I have a friend who will help me with molding and casting (Which is a GREAT help!). His schedule is very busy, but he's one of the best in the business.
I will have the LONG-OVERDUE pictures of the completed sculpture this week".
Since this mail, no pics...So what can we think of this?
What I see here :
- WIP pics just after the first payment, and WIP pics just before you've asked for the second payment.
- promises and promises : "work will be completed this week", "I will send you pics of the completed statue", ....
And the Surfer statue is not the only commission you're involved in who wasn't completed. Just imagine that we're talking to each other on several boards...
Another problem : you told us by mail : "I have a friend who will help me with molding and casting". Well if you have someone who help you, why do you accept the help of Fenix? And who is you friend described in your mail as one of the best caster?
As I said, you're gifted, you've got talent... great talent. But please just try to be serious... The way you act just bring doubt and suspicion. What kept you of giving us news. Does it take so much time to send a mail? And just imagine that you've put Lipfire in a very bad position. I'm really sorry for him.
PS : I didn't post all pics due to the 15 pics limitation. I can't give url if needed.
