| Okay guys,
Here's the deal ... as most of you know, my kits have been repeatedly recast, and it's been brought to my attention that it's happening again ... this should come as surprise to no one, least of all me. As some of you might have seen at Garage Kits, I was ready to just say SCREW IT and quit making kits all together, it's just not worth the aggravation anymore! Well, anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a SOB fighter and that I've never quit anything in my life, and I'm not about to start now!! As I've gotten deeper and deeper into the Garage Kit business, I've realized that there are A LOT of unscrupulous people in it, but there are just as many (actually a lot more) terrific people in it as well .. so I've decided rather than give up, or fight fire with fire anymore ... I'm going to try another route and fight fire with water!
I know for a fact that there are several people that have been buying my recasted kits from recasters (again, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, least of all me) due to the fact that he under-sells me because he doesn't have to pay the sculptor his fees for sculpting the piece ... make no mistake THIS IS THEFT ... but that's neither here nor there anymore, the point is he's doing it. Several people have told me that my kits are over priced ... just for the record, I don't believe they are, not for the level of quality and design we put into each piece ... I would GLADLY put my pieces next to Bowen's or any piece produced by any company or producer on the market today! But again, this is neither here nor there, the fact is that I'm being undersold by a SOB that puts no effort into anything he does, he just steals everyone else's work, this is the very definition of a bottom feeder!!
I believe that most people are honest and would rather support the Garage Kit Hobby than support a thief (I NEED to believe this) ... and I hope that doing this will prove it once and for all ... so here's what I'm going to do ... effective immediately, I'm going be dropping our prices so that they fall more in line with pieces of similar scale that I've seen advertised in Amazing Figure Modeler and Kit Builders. Please realize, that whether you believe it or not, I barely break even (IF THAT) on each piece we produce, but I love doing this and I don't want to give up unless I just can't take anymore, so I'm sticking my neck out (once again) and taking the hit on the chin!
I want to make 2 things perfectly clear to everyone here and now, (1) this price drop WILL NOT compromise the quality of the pieces we produce, you will still receive the same exact quality pieces that you've come to expect from Resin Pimps.. and (2)I am not now, nor will I ever, negotiate fees with my sculptors or caster, the work they all do is worth every penny I pay them AND MORE, and I would be no where without them .. I'm taking all this on the chin MYSELF.
The next sculpt from RPP is the Savage She-Hulk .. the piece was originally priced at $75.00 dollars, I'm dropping the price to $65.00 plus shipping. To those that have already paid for the piece, I can either offer you a refund of the difference, or you can let it ride for the next piece (either Sasquatch or Johnny Storm).. it's up to you guys.
I am hoping (and praying) that what I lose per piece, I will make up for in increased volume and customer loyalty because people will want to buy from the actual producer rather than a recaster/thief. I'm also going to start featuring our pieces in AFM and KB magazines in the hopes of increasing the sales volume for them ... BUT ... if this doesn't happen in the next 5 to 6 pieces we produce ... make no mistake about it, I WILL SHUT DOWN Resin Pimps, and no longer make any of the pieces that I create available to anyone. I WILL NOT continue to line the pocket of a theif, while others are doing all the work.
Okay guys there it is in black and white.
At the end of the day, the Garage Kit community is made up of individuals who have a passion for the characters, the artistty and the hobby itself, I count myself fortunate (and honored) to have earned and to be considered a part of the community in such a relatively short time.
I want to take this opportunity to personally Thank all the people that have supported Resin Pimps in the past and sincerely hope that you will continue to support us in the future.
Your Freindly Neighborhood Resin Pimps

. . Mais peut-être que je me trompe . . .

| Just for the sake of argument .. the last piece that I know for a fact Dan Fuller got his hands on of mine was Starfire .. and it was almost 2 weeks to the day that Xenomorph painted a Starfire for a French collector .. coincidence .. there have been too many of those. And by the way, he painted it wrong, Starfire doesn't have eyes! | |

Jesse , first of all . I did not recast your starfire and I did not recast any of your busts that you had told everyone I did. Second , i do know who this dan fuller is , he has only purchase some flash and batman kit from me last year and that it . And for your infor . The 300 kit was my design and idea. I got Edinho to sculpt it for me , I pay for it . I do it the legal way of getting my own sculpt but your friends stole it from me. Go check my site , if I recast your busts why do I still put a enquiry link to your email.I will not explain myself again on the recast issue. In future if you have any issues regarding your kits just email me. ang_kok_keng@hotmail.com Thanks Ben

A partir du moment où c'est un recast d'un exemplaire d'un kit je dois avouer que je m'en fous, après en produire une centaine sur mon dos me gonflerait c'est sûr . Chris .. for the record, I'm past the point of caring who did it, right now the point is moot, whether the collector that handed my kit to a recaster (whoever the recaster is) is French, English, German, Spanish, Brazilian, Asian or Hispanic doesn't matter to me anymore .. the point is that someone did it and they did it after me asking SPECIFICALLY not to give my kits to certain people for building and painting. Maybe you guys don't care if your hard work gets copied, but I do! And the reason I do is because this bastard (again whoever he is) has been taking my kits, copying them and selling copies of my kits to MY OWN CUSTOMERS at a rate cheaper than me because he didn't have to pay the sculptor that created them like I did. This situation has forced to take drastic financial measures to correct, but guess what, it's easy for everyone to sit back and watch and judge because it's not your money that's being lost .. it's mine! Am I pissed, you dang well better believe I'm pissed about it!! You guys (the French collectors) are some of my best customers and I know you all like the kits I design and produce, and I bust my but to make sure that those kits are the best kits possible. Well guess what folks .. if this keeps happening, I'm not going to produce kits anymore and then EVERYONE will lose I'll still design, I'll still have pieces made, but I simply won't produce them anymore ... I'm not going to continue to do all the work while someone else is making money off of my designs.

| Jesse, i understands your judgement, but your attacks on Ben are perhaps exessives. Ben no recast not your kits (I think?) it makes only painting, customs or productions with sculptors. When you see pics on the French forums links towards his site on its jobs belong. People contact its services because, it paints well, quickly and in quantity!! If you propose a versions of your kits painted , the problem of recast would be resolved. It's difficult to have a same service by US painters and the price its not the same. I am pained because I appreciate your drawings and your sculptors are exellents. Find package kits +paint in good price. Because guys do not make it them - even.

Thanks Ben Ben, I was told that you were the one that turned Dan Fuller in to SF for recasting kits, I also know that you have recasted and adapted pieces in the past. Regardless of what's happened in the past, under normal circumstances, I'm more than willing to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone, yourself included, because that's the way that I would like to be treated. And I have no reason not to believe you, and I do believe you, because I've had several friends from all over the world contact you about getting some of my kits, and each time you've told them that you only painted the kits and to contact me directly. And all that aside, I had nothing to do with the situation with the King Leonidas sculpt, I came into the that whole situation after the fact, and I certainly won't be held responsible for the actions of someone else. If I had been directly or indirectly involved, I can see where you would be justified at being pissed at me, but that just isn't the case here. Regardless, it's not me or "my friends" that you should be making your case to, it's Edinho himself that you should be speaking to as he was the one that made the final decision on the situation. Jesse PS .. you can ask anyone here, while I did name you in a recent thread at Garage Kits, (1) I also said "possibly Xenomorph" and once the thread was getting out of control, I was the one that STOPPED IT! You can ask anyone here that is a member of that forum (or you can become a member yourself), I have nothing to hide from anyone. I've always been MORE than upfront with everyone about everything I've done.

| Marvel and DC will usually look the other way so long as what we're making are MODEL KITS and not finished prepaints and we're not making hundreds and hundreds of them. As long as they stay kits, and the numbers stay relatively low, they will leave us alone because it's more expensive to hit us with lawyers than they could ever hope to gain. Besides, Randy Bowen started in the Garage Kit business and look at him now ... who knows in a few years time, I could get a license myself and be producing finished pieces. | |
