IN SCALE Sasquatch

Could some kind soul please translate this for everyone? :geek:

Okay guys, here's the deal.

After a LONG hiatus, I have a new sculptor that is interested in picking up and sculpting the IN SCALE Sasquatch, and BELIEVE ME your going to be VERY happy with who it is, but I want his permission before I disclose his name .. I honestly CANNOT believe that he wants to sculpt this piece for us.

BUT ... as with every piece, there are some problems, so I'm putting all my cards on the table for this one.

In order to be in proper scale (or at least as close to it as we're going to be able to come to it) he is going to have to be huge ... and mean HUGE! We're talking about a bust at least 10 to 12 inches tall and about 7 to 8 inches wide, think of the top half of the Bowen FS Juggernaut or Man-Thing, we're talking that big (actually, probably a bit bigger)!

So, (1) the sculpting fees alone for this piece are going to be massive, I don't even want to think about the molding and casting fees yet.

When all is said and done, I expect this piece to run between 125 and 150 per casting ... as most of you remember, this was my guesstimate when I originally proposed the project.

I need an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of 30 people to commit to this project BEFORE I will drop my cash into it, to get it under way ... we will only cast exactly as many pieces are sold .. with a MAX of 35 ... NO MORE!

And let's be clear about this ... once committed to this one, THERE IS NO BACKING OUT! The sculptor has given me a completion date of "early spring", so we're about end of March or early April for the sculpt to be finished.

I am telling everyone right here and now, I personally am not going to make 1 penny from this project! Whatever the charges are to get this piece made will be split evenly among the number of people in the project .. myself included. I'm giving up everything on it, just because I'm really excited to be working with this sculptor for the first time, and I really want to see this one made.

That being said, if I can't get 30 people, I'll just have to give up on the project.

So ... what do I do here guys? The fate of this project is in your hands.

Count me in and I am persuaded that you have chosen a sculptor of talent and I adore all your commissions.

I've been told by the sculptor that it's okay to reveal his identity to those in the project, and those that I trust ... but I would like to keep his name off any public forum, so anyone that wants to know please contact me.

Donc juste rapidement heu il lui faut au moin 30 personnes pour valider le bestiaux, ensuite ca devrait tourner entre 125 et 150$ , enfin il sera d'apres le montage plus balese que le bowen c'est ca?

The reason is because this piece is equivalent in size and mass to a full size statue, so I'm paying full size prices to have it made ... AND by one of the best professional sculptors in the business no less!

SO, in order to make it affordable for everyone, I need a certain amount of people in the project or all the rest comes out of my pocket alone ... and even if I get 28 or so, I'm willing to take the hit, just for the sheer pleasure of working with this particular sculptor.

You see MB ... it's not about the money, at least not for me, it's about the love of the characters and wanting to see them done RIGHT!

If you want to keep the crappy Bowen version that no where near comes to representing the fun loving orange hominid that I read about, and remember so fondly from John Byrne's books, your absolutely welcome to it, as a matter of fact, you can have mine as well, I can assure you, I certainly won't be missing it once I have ours on my shelf. :geek:

After talking to my caster this afternoon, I think we've got this piece down to the $120.00 range!
